Brad Keselowski Stuns Fans With Holiday Message, Surgery Update

Brad Keselowski used social media on Christmas to acknowledge that the season isn’t the same for everyone, offering a heartfelt message that balanced empathy with faith. The RFK driver, who has often leaned into lighthearted holiday traditions with his team, posted on X wishing people a Merry Christmas and expressing a hope that they would “know and feel ‘The wonders of his love’.” He replied to a fan who noted that some people feel lonely or are grieving during the holidays, and Keselowski’s tone reflected a desire to uplift without dismissing others’ hardship.

The message followed a long history of Keselowski’s community-minded efforts. Earlier in his career he took part in a NASCAR–USO tour that visited service members, a trip he described as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” that left a lasting impression. That visit—where drivers met sailors and Coast Guard members, signed autographs, and shared meals—helps explain why Keselowski often emphasizes reaching out to people who may be struggling when everyone else seems to be celebrating.

Keselowski also provided an update on his health over the holiday period. He recently underwent surgery after a skiing accident and was released from the hospital, posting that he was “rolling out” and grateful for his care as he headed home to recover.
The 41-year-old, who drives the No. 6 Ford for RFK and is a 2012 Cup Series champion, has been remarkably durable as a full-time driver—he hasn’t missed a Cup race since 2010—even competing through injuries in past seasons.

With NASCAR’s non-points Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium set for Feb. 1 and the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15, Keselowski has weeks to rehabilitate before competition resumes.

While he didn’t offer detailed timelines, his social updates conveyed optimism about recovery and a focus on being with family for the holidays. Fans and the NASCAR community will be watching as he balances recovery with preparation for the coming season.
